Benefits and features
Seamless data transfer
EXModel integrates directly with SHINING 3D scanning software.
After scanning, mesh data can be transferred to EXModel with a single click, making the transition between measurement and design processes quick and easy.
Network editing
EXModel's mesh editing tools are intuitive to use and allow you to reduce data volume while maintaining accuracy.
Holes can be automatically filled and noise removed to create a watertight (closed) mesh for 3D printing or re-modeling.
Recognition of primitive elements
EXModel quickly reconstructs basic geometries (plane, cylinder, cone, sphere).
Reference geometries — such as points and axes — can also be created to align the mesh to a coordinate system or other scans.
Parameterized 2D sketches
EXModel Pro's dimensioning and constraint tools allow you to create accurate sketches similar to traditional CAD systems.
Interactive intersection allows you to extract reference points for 2D sketches and create intersection planes along global, CAD, or aligned planes.
Using multiple cutting planes simultaneously speeds up modeling and increases efficiency.
Available in EXModel Pro version
3D sketches and filled surfaces
Freeform curves can be drawn directly onto the reference mesh to create filled surfaces and complex surface models.
3D sketches can be used to generate precisely fitting surfaces based on the mesh for greater accuracy.
Available in EXModel Pro version
Freeform modeling and automatic surfacing
Organic shapes can be re-modeled with a single click using automatic surfacing.
Freeform surfaces can also be reconstructed manually using the quad-mesh-based surfacing function.
Mesh matching technology allows non-CAD specialists to quickly create accurate models — a unique feature in its category.
Hybrid modeling
The software combines parametric and surface modeling, allowing prismatic and organic geometries to be handled in a single model.
Users can return to and modify freeform surfaces at any time, ensuring the model is regenerative.
Available in EXModel Pro version
Surface rollout / unroll (Roll / Unroll)
It allows you to flatten curved surfaces and then reposition 2D sketches onto the original surface.
This is especially useful when modeling sheet metal parts or complex enclosures.
Available in EXModel Pro version
